Countless hours spent in taxis, elevators, hotels, supermarkets and hair salons have been ruined by the excruciating schmaltz of their piano and sax driven tunes. But Chinese people apparently love these guys, and the curse will stay with us for some time to come.<\/p>\n<p>Actually, one of the curses will materialize live in Beijing next June. Richard Clayderman will perform at the Workers Gymnasium accompanied by the new menace of Chinese pop: the &#8216;Oriental Angels&#8217; (sic), yet another combo of babes that play  horrible modern song using traditional Chinese instruments. Here&#8217;s how today&#8217;s Beijing Times defines Mr. Clayderman&#8217;s contribution to world music:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>13 years ago, the sound of Richard Clayderman&#8217;s piano gently came from Paris.
