The Shanghai Bund reopened to the public yesterday after three years of renovations.

The project, which was completed in time for the upcoming Shanghai World Expo, diverted vehicular traffic underground and spruced up the pedestrian promenade along the western bank of the Huangpu River.

The Bund is a grand place to enjoy a view of the historic buildings that line the waterfront, as shown on the cover of today’s Shanghai Morning Post.

Or, as shown on today’s Oriental Morning Post, it presents a nice panorama of the gleaming, modern Pudong skyline across the river.
